Wrestlinginc.com are reporting that WWE have officially signed 19 individuals to NXT contracts. The new hopefuls looking to enter WWE’s developmental territory include independent wrestlers and some of the failed Tough Enough contestants from this year as well as athletes that have previously taken part in other sports at a high level.
Eliminated contestants from Tough Enough 2015 that will be returning to the WWE Performance Center include Mada Abdelhamid; Daria Berenato; Patrick Clark; Zariah Loupe, a.k.a ZZ and Amanda Saccomano. It was only a matter of time before Amanda would get a contract as we already knew that she is replacing Naomi on Total Divas. The two winners of the competition, Sara Lee and Josh Bredl are of course already at the Performance Center in Orlando. I must admit I am quite disappointed that Tanner Saraceno isn’t included in that. He was a very talented performer in the ring and in his match for the NXT superstars he showed signs of a good on-screen persona. The moment that he slithered out of the ring and got in the faces of the NXT talents seated at ringside was actually the most interesting thing any of them did in the whole episode.
Amongst the independent talents signed are Christopher Atkins, Gabriel Ealy and twin brother Girard, Dallas Harper, Daniel Matha, Richard Swann and Adrienne Reese. Additionally the Performance Center has recruited Eddie Orengo as a referee. There are developmental talents in this new crop of recruits who have competed at a top level in other sports for example Gzim Selmani, who was an MMA fighter at Bellator. Also, Adrian Jaoude who comes from an amateur wrestling and martial arts background.
With many of their top talents now moving up to the main roster WWE are replenishing their developmental roster…exciting times for fans of pro wrestling. If you enjoyed this article I posted a list of the 8 NXT superstars that should move up to the main roster. You can read that article here.
