On his time away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Robert Downey Jr. is going to be working on a courtroom drama for HBO. Being Iron Man has got to be the best job in the world but I am sure a change of tone is nice from time to time. Ice cream is great but you wouldn’t want it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

One of the most recognisable actors in the world is now taking a break from saving the world to develop a Perry Mason reboot. He will be joined by the mastermind behind True Detective, Nic Pizzolatto.

Perry Mason is a courtroom drama in which an attorney defends the wrongfully accused. He often catches the real culprit. This sounds like the perfect premise for Pizzolatto. True Detective season 1 was one of the best pieces of crime drama I have ever seen. In fact, it is one of the most compelling and well-written seasons of television I have seen.

With an interesting concept being resurrected, in a world where Making a Murderer has gripped viewers, this show could be a hit. If you enjoyed this article show it some love and share it on Facebook.
