Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson’s victory over Glover Teixiera at UFC 202 essentially assured him another shot at the light heavyweight championship. Interestingly enough, the last time he fought for the 205 pound belt was the night that Daniel Cormier won it. The belt was vacant due to Jon Jones’ hit and run arrest.

A recent Twitter dispute has broken out between the current champion and his next opponent, despite how respectful they were after Johnson’s 13 second knockout. Johnson has gotten restless waiting for confirmation that the fight is happening. In an attempt to move things along he took to Facebook to call ‘DC’ out.

Some huge fights have already been confirmed and rumoured to be in the works for the first UFC event in New York. A light heavyweight title clash between these two would make that card even more exciting. However, Cormier has other ideas. He responded on Twitter:

Cormier presumably wants more preparation time for Johnson as he proposed a clash at UFC 207 on December 30th. It is a shame that this bout won’t be added to an already landmark card but whenever it happens, it is sure to be a barn burner.
