Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a polarising movie when it was released this time last year. Personally, I really enjoyed elements of it but found others lacking. Justice League looks to be a vast improvement, the first trailer for the film has just been revealed and it is exciting to say the least.

In the first team-up of the DC cinematic universe, Batman was something of an anti-hero. The biggest difference between Affleck’s Batman and every other iteration was that he kills his enemies. This had fans in uproar as the comic book version was completely opposed to killing.

The events of Batman v Superman made him see the error of his ways to some extent. Superman’s sacrifice at the hands of Doomsday gave him a change of heart. In an interview with USA Today, director Zack Snyder noted that Batman would continue down this path in Justice League.

Snyder Commented that in his first appearance, Affleck’s Batman is at his lowest ebb in life, resulting in his brutality. He continued: “That was always our intention, that Justice League would be this continuation for Batman to evolve into a more complete hero”.
