Motivation is just that feeling of enthusiasm you feel on a productive day. Energised, ready to attack the day. But that isn’t what drags you into the gym on a cold day in December when you have a million other things to worry about that day.

The thing that drives you on when things are hard is not called motivation. It is called discipline. This is something else entirely. It is a trait that cannot be separated from success, especially when it comes to weightlifting and bodybuilding.

The reason discipline is so important is that it pushe you to train, until you feel like it. If you have discipline and you are committed to your goals, you will still get to the gym even when you lack motivation. Mid way through your workout you will start to enjoy it again and you will be glad you went.
