Rumour has it that negotiations are underway between the camps of Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. The preliminary talks are allegedly for a bout at UFC 229 in Vegas.

UFC president, Dana White has noted numerous times recently that Khabib vs Conor is the fight to make. However, before this can happen, McGregor has business to attend to with the the New York legal system. McGregor and co. have not yet received punishment for attacking a bus full of fighters, causing injury, before UFC 223 in April.

When Dana has spoken about the potential lightweight title fight he has admitted that it is predicated on McGregor receiving a lenient sentence. UFC 229 is set to take place on October 6th so the UFC may have reason to believe Conor will indeed get off lightly.

This adds credance to the theory that Conor’s appearance in NYC was intended to set up a future bout with Khabib and it just got out of hand. Are you excited for this potential monumental title fight? Let me know in the comments section.
