Murat Gassiev versus Oleksandr Usyk is the biggest fight that nobody is talking about. Gassiev and Usyk are not mainstream names by any means, not in the UK or the US anyway, but they are two of the best cruiserweights in the world.

The final of the World Boxing Super Series sets the stage for their clash and the emergence of a unified champion.

Between them, Usyk and Gassiev hold every belt in their division. The winner of this bout will walk away as the unified, undisputed cruiserweight champion.

After some delays, the details of the unification bout have been revealed. Gassiev and Usyk will clash on July 21st at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex, Moscow.

This should be a great fight. Gassiev stays in the pocket and throws brutalising combinations. Usyk prefers to keep his opponents at a distance by backing them up with wide and clubbing shots, he applies a sometimes unrecognised pressure dictating the pace of the fight.

The nuances are fascinating and Tony Bellew has expressed a desire to face the winner. This bout is pivotal.
