IGN are reporting that a ‘Rick and Morty’ soundtrack are on the way. Despite its niche appeal, Dan Harmon’s adult animated comedy has seen massive success. Fans, myself included, rejoiced at the news that the surreal comedy had been greenlit for 70 more episodes.

The new season is a long way off, but in the meantime, an album of the show’s score will be released. The double album of 24 tracks will be available on a variety of formats. On September 28th, the soundtrack will arrive on digital download, LP and CD.

There will then be a re-release on November 23rd. The album will be available on cassette and a special edition LP. The record includes an array of bonuses, an LED lit window in the packaging among others. The show is strongly influenced by Doctor Who, which first broadcast on that date in 1963. Coincidence? Doubt it.

Two tracks are available on Apple Music and Spotify right now. The main theme and ‘Goodbye Moonmen’, a beautiful and haunting ballad from a cosmic fart cloud. If you excuse me, I am going to go and listen to these until the album comes out.
