The WBO have called on Billy Joe Saunders to defend their middleweight championship. The WBO have given Saunders ten days to reach an agreement with Demetrius Andrade.

The past few days have been eventful for Saunders and his clan. His teammate and friend, Tyson Fury was confirmed yesterday to be facing Francesco Pianeta at Windsor Park in August. On Wednesday, it was announced that Hughie Fury will face Kubrat Pulev in an IBF title eliminator.

Andrade is no slouch with an unblemished record of 25 wins, 16 via KO. Andrade holds wins over the likes of Willie Nelson and Vanes Martirosyan.

However, Saunders’ last outing was an incredible performance against David Lemieux. Saunders handled one of the best in the world with ease and a care-free demeanour.

The always game Saunders is ready to make the walk again, he told Boxing News Online: “Ready to face Andrade September, let’s get it on”. This could be a really entertaining fight.
