Darren Till tweeted UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley this morning. The tweet, which you can see below, potentially suggests that Till has sent Woodley a bout agreement.
The Liverpudlian shot to fame when he stopped Donald Cerrone in October 2017. This victory over a big star and his considerable fanbase, secured Till a headline bout in his backyard against two-time title challenger, Stephen Thompson.
Till beat Thompson by decision, he is ranked #2 on the welterweight rankings as a result. This certainly gives him a claim to a welterweight title shot but what of Colby Covington?
Some would say winning the interim title positions you as the next challenger to the undisputed belt. Woodley agrees as he posted the following in response to Till’s call-out.
It seems Till knows something we don’t. His repost suggested that Covington is injured.
I wanted Till to face Woodley next before Covington won the interim belt. If Covington is out with an injury, it would make sense to have Woodley face Till next and remove the interim belt as a factor. Interim titles seem to carry no value these days anyway.
