Earlier this month I reported that the WBO had ordered middleweight champion, Billy Joe Saunders to face Demetrius Andrade. Dan Rafael has since reported that the bout has been agreed.

The bout is set to broadcast on DAZN, Eddie Hearn’s new streaming service in thr USA. Billy Joe Saunders is becoming a big star in the boxing world so a title defence against Andrade is another big acquisition for the streaming giant.

Saunders is undeniably one of the best boxers in the world right now. His systematic dismantling of David Lemieux is evidence of that. He faces a game contender in Andrade who has an unblemished record of 39 wins. This is a brilliant match-up for the hardcore fans.
Hearn is set for a lucrative move into the American combat sports market. The service is planned to be the premier platform for the biggest fights put together by Matchroom Boxing.

The service will launch with Anthony Joshua’s next title defence against Alexander Povetkin on September 22nd.

The first of DAZN’s Bellator events will stream on the 29th with a huge champion vs champion superfight; Rory MacDonald vs Gegard Mousasi. The welterweight champion has the opportunity to become a two weight class titilist when he challenges middleweight champion, Mousasi.

Per Eddie Hearn, Saunders vs Andradeis tentatively scheduled for October 20th.
