As I previously reported on Monday, Frank Warren claimed that Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are in talks for title clash.

The former unified champion’s promoter noted that the negotiations are for a bout in November or December. This followed hints from Tyson on Instagram towards a potential future meeting with Wilder.

Tyson Fury’s next outing will see him take on Fracesco Pianeta on the August 18th Frampton/Jackson card. Following word that Wilder would be at ringside, the WBC champion has confirmed the negotiations.

Wilder told The Ring Magazine: “It’s definitely gonna happen, there’s no doubt. There’s just a little more work to be done.”

Fury is quickly returning to form and I believe that will be on show at Windsor Park. His return fight against Seferi was somewhat of a circus but that appeared to be due to the huge mismatch. Pianeta is a far more worthy opponent so he will force Fury to exhibit his abilities.

I anticipate Fury/Wilder looking like a much fairer fight after August 18th, making it an interesting precursor to the inevitable title unification. It perhaps raises the stakes. The winner would be the lineal heavyweight champion, enhancing the stakes of the following title clash.
