Boxing great, ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard and legendary analys, Brian Kenny are close to signing with DAZN. Sporting News are reporting that Kenny and Leonard are close to negotiating with DAZN to commentate on their broadcasts.

Providing the deal gets done, this would be another massive acquistion for Eddie Hearn’s new streaming outlet. DAZN and Matchroom Boxing have an ever growing roster of superstars.

‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard is widely regarded as one of the best of all-time. Leonard won world titles in multiple weight classes and his slick movement is unparalleled.
The word ‘slick’ can be used to describe Kenny also. In his case, it is his analysis and on-screen presence. A good commentary team is an integral part of the big fight feel. DAZN are covering all bases here.

I have never seen a new promotion or service have such a strong start. DAZN have not even had their first broadcast and they are already setting themselves up for success.

The combat sports outlet will launch in September with Joshua vs Povetkin on the 22nd and Gegard Mousasi vs Rory MacDonald on the 29th. The latter will see Bellator welterweight champion, MacDonald challenge for the middleweight belt.

The service then has two boxing cards, one of which includes Billy Joe Saunders’ title defence against Demetrius Andrade. Also, DAZN have received backing from Len Blavatnik, a billionaire entertainment heavyweight. Eddie Hearn’s entrepreneurial hustle is inspiring.
