Liverpudlian rising star, Darren Till spoke to the collected press yesterday. After a live workout, Till sat down with MMA journalists to talk cutting weight; Tyron Woodley and his plans beyond UFC 228.

Till told reporters that despite struggling to make the 170 pound limit, he will defend the welterweight strap if he wins on September 8th. His plan is to defend the belt at least once before moving up to 185 pounds.

Darren admitted that the weight cut is giving him trouble at the moment but he is motivated to prove people wrong. As Till noted, there appears to be a narrative that Till will likely miss the mark.

However, his last cut was interrupted by a family emergency, he was unable to carry out the procedure properly as a result.

There are some great fights for Till at middleweight including Kelvin Gastelum; Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker. It is refreshing to see that Till is not looking to follow the trend and immediately look for a champion vs champion superfight.
