Dan Rafael is reporting that influential boxing promoter Al Haymon has struck a deal with Showtime. Premier Boxing Champions has announced a three year deal with Showtime. The partnership will see Showtime live broadcast PBC fight cards.

Haymon is a heavyweight in boxing promotion, having managed Floyd Mayweather. Haymon continues to make moves in the boxing world, for instance he recently signed commonwealth champion and olympic medalist, Joe Joyce.

Rafael also reports that PBC are nearing a deal with Fox. A broadcasting deal with two of the biggest TV networks in America would be a huge acquisition for Haymon’s promotion.

It is worth noting that the UFC also have a deal with Fox and have recently reached a lucrative deal with ESPN. UFC president, Dana White intends to ‘dip a toe’ into the boxing waters under the Zuffa Boxing banner.

Things could get interesting if two boxing promotions, with the same broadcaster, are competing with one another. Although, it is unknown if  the UFC’s Fox deal would factor into White’s boxing venture. One thing is for sure, promotional conflict is great for the sport and thus, great for the fans.
