Per a report by Dan Rafael of ESPN, Terence Crawford has re-signed with Top Rank Boxing. Crawford is ranked highly in the pound-for-pound rankings and believed by some to be the number one in waiting.

Crawford’s ranking and status as WBO welterweight champion no doubt gave him a lot of leverage when negotiating this lucrative deal. The extension sees Crawford making millions of dollars over multiple years.

Crawford’s last contract was apparently still in affect when this deal came together. It is clear to see why Top Rank were in a rush to lock Crawford into a contract extension.

The welterweight champion’s name has been paired with some of the biggest names in the sport. Not only that, he sits at 33-0 having held titles in multiple weight divisions. This makes him a great boon for Bob Arum who can use him as a bargaining chip when it comes to making other acquisitions.

‘Bud’ is motivated to put on the fights fans are clamouring to see after this career move.
