Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn is looking to sign a pound-for-pound topper in Gennady Golovkin. The former middleweight champion is of course a stable member of Tom Loeffler’s K2 Promotions.

However, Golovkin’s HBO TV deal has recently expired, Hearn looks to purchase the rights to his fights for his streaming venture, DAZN.

Hearn revealed that he would soon begin talks with Loeffler in an interview with Michelle Joy Phelps of Behind The Gloves.

Hearn has been snapping up boxing’s biggest stars for the DAZN-Sky Sports-Matchroom outfit. Golovkin has recently been number one on the pound-for-pound list. He is coming off of a razor close loss in a thrilling rematch with ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

If Hearn can secure the rights to stream the eventual trilogy fight, he would be a dominant promotional force. Eddie Hearn’s success and work ethic in the boxing business is inspiring.
