For a long time, ‘Star Wars’ fans have been pining for a Boba Fett solo outing. It seemed to be in the works for a period but Disney and Lucasfilm have now changed tack.

As previously reported, Disney are poised to launch their own streaming service. A Boba Fett focussed live action TV show will exclusively feature on the platform. The show will be titled ‘The Mandalorian’ from the mind of Jon Favreau.

Favreau has experience with reviving beloved characters. The Hollywood veteran directed a remake of The Lion King set for release in 2019 as well as The Jungle Book in 2016.

A newly released image promises another exciting project from Favreau. As you can see below, Fett has a new look.

The reason behind this is that the show is set after the events of the sixth instalment and before the seventh. Fans will see Fett’s trials after emerging from the Sarlacc Pit unscathed.

Taika Waititi will direct an episode. Waititi’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ was a resounding success. Acclaimed actress, Bryce Dallas Howard will helm an episode. Howard has experience on both sides of the camera.

There is a lot of high level talent involved in this project. ‘Star Wars’ fans should be enthused about ‘The Mandalorian’.
