In the early hours of this morning Moss Side Firebox Gym in Manchester was robbed, the owners are now appealing for information.

Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club look to raise aspirations in one of Manchester’s most deprived areas.

Owners of the gym posted an appeal on Twitter today (April 6) saying: “Please see the offender, any information will be greatly appreciated. Much needed equipment stolen.”

The boxing fandom and members of the club, which is run as a charity have reacted with anger and disappointment. James Worthy added: “1000 reward from me personally.”

Mike Kelly, chairman of the Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club said: “What a horrible thing to have happen to our charity, to these community facilities and to this club that gives whatever it can to our young people and members.”

Many young people of Manchester are benefiting from the training at the club. In England Boxing’s junior national championships, Matt Knipe beat Sonny Flack in the under 63kg category. Prospect Conner Tudsbury is on the climb up the amateur boxing ranks.
