Former British champion Matty Askin has joined the list of pro fighters to make the jump into bareknuckle boxing.

Seasoned in the gloved ranks, Askin has fought on some big cards. One of which was a losing effort against cruiserweight British stand-out, Lawrence Okolie.

That bout took place on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin.

Askin  joins a whose who of fighters that have turned to the un-gloved combat sport. For example, on June 22 former pro boxing star Paulie Malignaggi is set to face Artem Lobov who plied his trade in the UFC featherweight division, fighting out of SBG Ireland.

Although only 30, Askin is not young in the game. He has experience at British and Commonwealth level, sharing a ring with some top level talent.

The Barnsley native’s move to BKB adds even more class to an already stacked cruiserweight division. Fighters at cruiserweight include slick operators like Jack Draper and Mason Shaw as well as British champion and previous world light-heavyweight title challenger, Kevin Thompson.
