SUPREMACY in boxing’s light-heavyweight division is set to be decided when Oleksandr Gvodzyk faces Artur Beterbiev.

Mike Coppinger of The Athletic Boxing has revealed that a huge title unification is in the works between WBC world champion Gvodzyk and IBF titlist Artur Beterbiev.

Gvodzyk is undefeated at 17-0, guided by legendary trainer Teddy Atlas, a disciple of Cus D’Amato. Beterbiev, also undefeated at 14-0, has stopped every opponent he has faced in the pro-ranks.

Although a date and venue is as yet unconfirmed, the blockbuster bout is being finalized by Top Rank bosses for Autumn. An ESPN platform will broadcast the bout.

The light heavyweight division is about to become very interesting with WBO world champion, Sergey Kovalev set to defend his belt against British prospect Anthony Yarde on August 24.

Despite a proposed superfight with Kovalev falling through, middleweight world champion ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is looking to get in the mix at 175 pounds.
