THE UFC have announced an expected and exciting move up to middleweight for Liverpudlian Darren Till.
The former welterweight world title challenger has flirted with the idea of fighting at 185 pounds due to his struggles with the scales at 170.
Although he has insisted there are still fights for him at welterweight, Till is set to make his middleweight debut on November 2 against Kelvin Gastelum.
The bout is set to take place at UFC 244 emanating from the hallowed ground of combat sports, Madison Square Garden.
At 15-4, Gastelum is a top contender at middleweight, he last fought in April, losing a five round war with Israel Adesanya for the interim belt.
Till will look to follow his path as Gastelum breathed new life into his career with a move up in weight after a struggle with the 170 pound limit.
17-2 Till has competed at the highest level since his breakout win over Donald Cerrone in 2017, facing Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson; Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal.
