A WELTERWEIGHT title fight between new unified champion Errol Spence and Danny Garcia is said to be in the works.

Mike Coppinger of The Athletic Boxing is reporting that a deal is already in place for IBF titlist and new WBC holder, Errol Spence to defend against Danny Garcia.

The fight is set to be signed for a PBC on Fox PPV card, January 25. The belts were unified this past weekend when Spence out-pointed ‘Showtime’ Shawn Porter.

And Porter lived-up to his nickname, making the bout a 12 round thriller and pushing Spence hard for the entire fight.

Spence outclassed Porter overall but Porter’s in-fighting and high volume style was in full face, he had Spence in trouble multiple times.

Porter brought the green and gold into the unification when he defeated Danny Garcia for the vacant WBC belt in a similarly exciting 2018 clash.

Since missing out on the belt, Garcia knocked out Adrian Granados in April to capture the silver version.

The bout has already began to gather steam with an in-ring confrontation between the two after Spence vs Porter.

Fox presenter Heidi Androl has confirmed that the interview was called because the fight will be next.

The welterweight division is in a golden era with fans clawing to see fights involving pound-for-pound toppers like Terrence Crawford, Errol Spence, Danny Garica, Keith Thurman and Mikey Garcia.

A great number of match-ups could be made with these names that would add clarity to the pound-for-pound rankings.
