SPORTS giant DAZN is set to make a move into the UK streaming market.
DAZN is the brainchild of Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn, bringing the promotion’s fights and fighters to the USA.
New fighters to join Matchroom Boxing usually sign their TV rights away to Sky Sports for UK broadcasts of their fights and DAZN for the USA.
However, the Netflix style platform for combat sports is circling it’s first UK broadcasting rights.
Reports are swirling that DAZN will move into football as they are targeting the rights for the 2021 to 2024 Champions League.
The deadline for the Champions League broadcasting rights is Monday November 11 and bids have also been made by ITV and BT Sport.
No word yet on if DAZN will start streaming boxing in the UK but Matchroom Boxing’s deal with Sky Sports is set to expire in 2021.
